 Discover Nassau County’s natural and historic heritage on this 216-acre Gold Coast estate. 
In the early 20^th century, Sands Point Preserve was  the home of the Guggenheim family. 
The buildings on the estate are remnants of the opulent lifestyle for which Long Island’s North Shore was once known. 

Diverse natural habitats within the Preserve include mature forest, woodlands, fields, a  freshwater pond, glacial cliffs and shoreline on Long Island Sound. 

 

Imagine your students’ excitement when you arrange your next field trip    against the backdrop of a 100-year-old castle!

Children will learn about the natural environment 

in a safe and manageable atmosphere close to home.

                         

All living things we examine will be returned to their proper habitats.

1 hour,  May—Oct. only.  Separate per-student fee applies.
