TEACHERS ...
Bring classroom concepts alive through first-hand experience!

  • ENJOY hands-on active learning
  • DISCOVER a world of nature nearby
  • EXPLORE your local woods and fields

Discover Nassau County’s natural and historic heritage on this 216-acre Gold Coast estate.
In the early 20th century, Sands Point Preserve was  the home of the
Guggenheim family.
The buildings on the estate are remnants of the opulent lifestyle for which
Long Island’s North Shore was once known.

OUTDOOR EXPLORATIONS

Diverse natural habitats within the Preserve include mature forest, woodlands, fields, a  freshwater pond, glacial cliffs and shoreline on Long Island Sound.
